How RECLION works
RECLION is a Windows screen recorder built around three ideas: your file stays on your disk, the 30-second loopfrom “open the app” to “MP4 in your inbox” must just work, and the price is one-time, never a subscription.
The 30-second flow
(Adapted from features.md“How to use it”. Keep in lockstep when features.md changes.)
- Open RECLION. Splash plays for ~1.5 seconds, then the main panel appears.
- Pick what to record. Screen tab for a full display (auto-picked when you have one monitor; selectable for multi-monitor) or Window for a specific app, with a thumbnail picker.
- Set your mic + camera. Pick devices from the two dropdowns. Choose a profile mode: live Webcam, static Picture, or None.
- Position the webcam circle. Drag the floating circle anywhere; it snaps to corners.
- Hit Record (or
Ctrl+Shift+R). A 3-second countdown plays full-screen on the target display, then the floating recording bar appears. - While recording, the bar gives you Pause / Resume / Stop / Toggle webcam / Mute mic / Screenshot. Hotkey for stop is
Ctrl+Shift+S. The bar is content-protected, so it doesn’t appear in its own recording. - Hit Stop. The preview opens with your clip ready to play. The recording is a fragmented MP4 written to a temp location.
- Polish (optional). Drag the gold trim handles to cut awkward starts/ends. Pick a playback speed (1.0× to 2.0×); audio pitch is preserved.
- Export. Click Export… and give it a title. A live filename preview shows what gets written to disk (slugified, lowercase, hyphenated, max 80 chars).
- Done. File lands in
~\Videos\Reclion\videos\(configurable in Settings).
Who it’s for
- Tutorial creators: step-by-step walkthroughs with friendly webcam bubble plus animated click ripples.
- Software demoers: show off a feature, trim the awkward dead air, email a 30-second polished MP4 to a prospect.
- Support engineers: capture a customer-reported bug, attach to your ticket. Click ripples make every step clear.
- Teachers and educators: record lectures or assignment walkthroughs without forcing students through a cloud signup wall.
- PMs and designers: explain a Figma flow or product change in 90 seconds. Faster than a meeting.
- Solo developers: narrate code or terminal sessions. Your code stays on your disk.

Privacy in one sentence
RECLION makes no outbound network calls while you record. The only thing that touches our server is your license check, ~once every two weeks, sending only your license key + an anonymized hash of your Windows machine ID + the app version + a country code derived from your IP.
