About
Built by one developer, for people who own their files.
I’m Jefrey Landicho, an independent developer who created RECLION because cloud-first recorders charge a subscription to do what local software has always done.
Why RECLION exists
Most screen recorders today are cloud-first by default. They want your videos on their servers, your account in their dashboard, and your credit card on file every month. That’s a great model, for them.
I wanted a tool that worked the opposite way:
- Recordings stay on your disk, not our cloud.
- The app works offline: you should be able to record on a plane.
- One purchase, no subscription. Free for life, including free upgrades to v2.0 and every future version.
Why “Record Like A Lion”
Three reasons:
- The app’s mark is a lion. (Yes, “Loom” inspired the name.)
- Lions don’t rent their hunts. They keep what they catch, the same way you should keep your recordings.
- Roar. (
roar@reclion.comis where to write.)
What’s next
Early access (the version you can buy today) is the full record + edit + export pipeline: Mic / System / Both audio, internal cuts, post-recording annotations, variable-speed export, frame-accurate trim. A v2.0 release is planned (date to be announced) that adds:
- Cloud-share integrations: direct upload to Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube, and Vimeo, still local-first and opt-in per recording.
- Live streaming: go live to YouTube, Facebook, or Twitch from the same recording bar.
- Crop capture and multi-monitor switch: record a region of interest, or hot-swap between displays mid-recording.
Buy now at $29 and you get v2.0 free when it ships, along with every version after that. The $59 v2.0 price is for new customers; existing license holders upgrade at no charge.
